Lydia Gertrude (Potter) Dubberstein of Sun City West, AZ passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015. She was born in 1946 as the 13th of 14 children in a Covington, KY blended family. Never one to sit still, she applied a life-long love for education into three degrees and a lengthy career caring for people in human resources and then nursing. Her greatest calling was traveling the world on mission trips, passionate to share God's word and proudly filling multiple passports in the process. She literally danced through life; winning dance marathons and hula hoop contests while always choosing to eat dessert first. Survived by her husband, Bruce; daughter Tara Bare; brother Jim (Buzzy) Potter; sisters Virginia (Ginny) Flanery, Sally Hall, and Fannie Mae Collier; step-children Christine Narro, Caryn Apodaca, and Craig Dubberstein; seven precious grandchildren Sabrina, Delaney, Kelsey, Sara, Dylan, Ashli and Max; and numerous treasured cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters Ethel, Hazel, Helen, Dallas, Dee; and brothers Howard, Carl, Ted and Ben. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 20, 11am at Palm West Community Church; 13845 W. Stardust Blvd; Sun City West, AZ 85375-5466.
