Louise Hammond Doughty, 94, passed away December 10, 2015. Mrs. Doughty was born in Nashua, NH February 21, 1921, the daughter of Lewis and Gladys Hammond, one of five children. She graduated from Nashua High School and also attended Strayers Business College in Washington, D.C. She worked for the Federal Government and at the time of her retirement was the Commander’s secretary of the Defense Contact Administration in Phoenix, AZ. She married Donald S. Doughty in 1943, one of her classmates at Nashua High School at Nashua, NH. They had been married 67 years when Don passed away. She moved to Sun City in March 1973. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sun City. She was also a member of the Bossier City Order of Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Sun City North Women’s Golf Division, serving as Chairperson in 1985 and was Club Champion in 1987. She served several years as Beautification Chairman for North Golf Course and was awarded Volunteer of the year in 1991 and 2001 by North Golf Course. Mrs. Doughty is survived by one son, Dave Doughty of Milton, FL, and two daughters, Diane (Robert) Meyerson of Castro Valley, CA, and Dawn (Joseph) Young of Glendale, AZ, also a brother, David (Nancy) Hammond of Biloxi, MS. She has numerous nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren. She died after battling a short illness. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Sun City, 9849 N. 105th Ave., Sun City, AZ.
