Louis Andrea

Louis Carmen Andrea passed away on May 28,2018 at Sun Valley Lodge 12415 N. 103rd Ave. Sun City, AZ 85351, battling Kidney Cancer. He was born July 4, 1937, the 3rd child of the late Carmen & Natalie (Maletta) Andrea at their home in Kenosha, WI. He is survived by his wife Rina Rae (Vinzani) Andrea who he married in 1966, a son, Robert Andrea, a younger sister, Elizabeth Andrea, a brother Carmen (Lori) Andrea, sister-in-law, Olivia Andrea, close cousin Carol Andrea, many cousins and nieces and nephews. Other deceased family members included his older brother, State Senator Joseph Andrea, older sister Domenica (Minnie) Gerhring, brother-in-law, Jack Gehring, sister-in-law, Dina Lee Vinzani, and close cousins, James Andrea and Rose Kishline. Lou attended Lincoln Elementary, Lincoln Junior High graduating from Bradford High School in 1955. He entered and graduated from Moler Barber College in Chicago, IL. in 1956. Louis then spent two years in The Navy as a ship's barber on The Destroyer U.S.S. Carpenter operating with the 7th fleet in the South Pacific. In 1958, Lou returned and started barbering with his Uncle Frank Andrea at Andrea's Barber Shop in Kenosha, WI. He has been owner of the shop since 1982 with 62 years of barbering experiences. Lou received an associate degree in Marketing from Gateway Technical College, Kenosha, WI in 1976. He was a member of the Uptown Business Association, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (on the building committee for its new Church), The Knights of Columbus, & The Danish Brotherhood across the street from his barber shop. He enjoyed sports (playing and sponsoring City basketball and bowling teams), also sponsoring annual bus trips to Arlington Race Track (Chicago, IL) from the shop and with The Danish Brotherhood, traveling through out many states and Europe with his wife, and wintering in Sun City, AZ for 17 years as "Snowbirds" before finally moving permanently there in 2016. Funeral services are conducted by Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Sun City, AZ 85351. Services and Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, 11625 N. 111th Ave. Sun City, AZ. Memorials may be made to Banner Hospice, 275 E.
