Leonard Dinius

Leonard Jack Dinius passed away on Thursday July 1, 2021 at the age of 91. Jack was born on April 12, 1930 in Huntington, IN to Russell S. Dinius and Dorothy I. Freeman. He was a student at Huntington College prior to being drafted. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He married Madalyn Arlene (Hack) Dinius on December 13, 1953 and raised three children, Randall Duane Dinius, David Kent Dinius and Ann Michelle Dinius. He worked at Dinius Insurance Agency in Huntington until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing frequently with friends, his children and grandchildren. He loved the game of baseball and spent more than 25 years as an official of Huntington County Baseball, Inc. He coached and managed in the league, served on the field board and was league president for 14 years. He also served as a member of the league’s board of directors. Jack will be laid to rest with his wife of 67 years at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ on July 12, 2021.
