April 11, 2018 *OBITUARY* LEANNA LEE BROOKS Leanna Lee Brooks passed away peacefully, on April 11th 2018, at age 92, at her Nursing Home, of Ventana Winds, in Youngtown, AZ. Leanna Lee Winch and her Twin Sister Luella Lou Winch were born on September 2nd in 1925. Her mother and father were Ruby and Everett Winch of Kansas City, MO. Leanna’s twin sister, Luella Winch, died of Blood Poisoning, described as “Lock Jaw” at age seven in the year 1932. Leanna has a Surviving Brother, Wilson E. Winch, born in 1934 in Kansas City, MO. Leanna graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City. Mo. Leanna attended Baker University in Kansas City, MO. Leanna married at age 21 to James Richard Brooks of Moberly, MO. On December 21st in 1946. Her husband an WW2 Army Veteran, and a Electrical Engineer who graduated from Missouri University in 1950. J.R. Brooks worked for WestingHouse Electric Co. for 25 years. Leanna and James Brooks were married 48 years. Her husband, J.R. Brooks was deceased in 1995. They had five children. The youngest son, William Everett Brooks died at age 17, of a self-inflicted gunshot in 1978. There are Four Surviving Children: James L. Brooks of Suisun City, CA., Richard L. Brooks of Rockford, IL., Nancy Kay Woods of Peoria, AZ., Bonnie Perry of Peoria, AZ. There are Four Grandchildren: Jason Walker of Phoenix, AZ. Sarah Woods of Alameda, CA. Kimberly Brooks of Monticello, IA. And Stefanie Brooks of Earlville, IA. Leanna’s memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel in Sun City, AZ.
