LaVerne Langhamer

93, Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Cousin and Friend went home to her Heavenly Father at the Sun Garden Care Home in Glendale, AZ on Jan. 1, 2014. A longtime resident of Sun City, she was born in Chicago IL on October 20, 1920. She became a dancer with the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes in New York until the start of WWII. When her husband went into the Army, Monty returned to Chicago and became a medical assistant for many years. When she retired in 1973, she moved to Sun City and became a waitress in the Bell Rec. Center coffee shop making many life long friends. Monty loved to volunteer and did so by putting in 14 years and 15,751 hours at Boswell Hospital. Additionally, she was a member of the Sun City Meals on Wheels, the Sun City Prides, and was a member of the St Elizabeth Seton Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by her son Dr. Edward H. Giannini (Dr Manuela J.), grandson Jasson, granddaughter Courtney and several cousins. She was pre deceased by her husband Joe Langhamer and son Robert H. Giannini (Karen J). A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at St Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City. Burial will be private.
