Larry Anthony Carlton, aged 58 died on Tuesday, May 17th surrounded by his family and friends. Larry lived for years with constant pain and is finally at peace and pain free. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth Carlton, sons Damien Carlton of Glendale, AZ; Jason Carlton of Kansas, and daughter Nique Carlton of Stamford, Con., Father-in-Law, Idris Williams of Preston, England; Brother-in-Law Rev. Peter Brown and Sister-in-Law Carole Brown of Lancaster England along with two nieces, Anastasia Brown and Chanel Brown also of Lancaster, England. Preceding him in death were both his parents and his Sister Delores Carpenter. Larry was born on September 8th, 1952 in Durham, NC to Lonnie and Maude Carlton later moving to Stamford, Connecticut where he leaves behind many friends. He joined in US Air Force and served firstly as an Air Traffic Controller and then later as an Office Manager at Lindsey Air Station, Wiesbaden, Germany. It was here that he met his wife, Ruth they were married and a year later, son Damien arrived. In 1992 he retired from the Air Force. He worked for a few more years before retiring due to his Rheumatoid Arthritis at which time he became a disabled Vietnam Veteran. In 1996 Larry moved the family to Arizona. Visitation will be at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351 on Tuesday, May 24th from 4pm until 7pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 27th at the National Memorial Cemetery at 2pm. Instead of flowers the family request that donations be made to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.
