Kevin Learned

Kevin James Learned, 66, of Sun City West passed away on November 1, 2020 with his wife and two sons by his side. He is survived by his spouse of 46 years, two sons, a daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, a sister and many other loved ones. Kevin was born June 30, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI but only lived there until he was 4 years old when his family moved to Phoenix, AZ. While not an official Phoenix native, he is almost a native since he has lived in the Phoenix area the rest of his life. Kevin worked many jobs in his youth beginning with his first as a paper carrier as well as a carry out at Fry’s Food stores. About a year after he graduated from high school, he found a job at Valley National Bank of Arizona in 1973 in the computer processing industry. He worked there until 1987 when he moved to Hitachi Data Systems in the same field. He stayed with HDS until he retired in 2014. During his entire life, Kevin loved hunting, fishing and golfing. After he was married and had children, he was very involved in his children’s lives as their soccer coach and referee. He loved to vacation with his family, which was very important to him every year. After he retired, he bought a 5th wheel trailer in order to travel around the US with his wife and see the country. The first big trip they took in 2016 was the western US and Canada and included taking the grandchildren with for nearly a month. The second big trip was in 2018 which included seeing 28 states and traveling 13,900 miles in 109 days. Kevin and his wife also took two trips to Europe to do river cruises and cruise ships. And there were many more trips with his wife and family over the last 45 years that are too numerous to list. Kevin enjoyed his life and his family to the fullest. He will be missed dearly. Visitation on November 6, 2020 from 4pm – 6pm at Menke Funeral Home 12420 N 103 Ave, Sun City, AZ. Funeral mass on November 7, 2020, 10:00am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 14818 W Deer Valley Dr, Sun City West, AZ.
