Kenneth Bontatibus II

Kenneth J. Bontatibus, of Surprise on Tuesday, 4/24/12 was received through the heavenly light at the Lord’s calling. Ken was born in New Haven, CT. on June 15, 1975, a Father’s Day gift to Kenneth J. Bontatibus and his mom Gail Murach Bontatibus. Ken attended Meriden and Wallingford Public Schools, Xavier High School (Middletown) and received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven. Ken worked in many occupations including several years as store security for Stop and Shop Markets, as an appraiser for Progressive Insurance, and as a Police Officer for the Veterans Administration Healthcare facility in West Haven, CT. Within a few years he began his career with the Bureau of Prisons in Danbury, CT. and then transferred to his present location at the Federal Prison in Phoenix, AZ. Kenny loved cycling, mellow jazz, and collectibles. He tried very hard to continue his father’s passion for the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed and learned from those around him, had a great smile and wit, loved to find and create humor, was always willing to share ideas, experiences and reach for understanding. He had a great work ethic and treated others with respect and humanism. He made a difference for people and will be really missed by those with whom he shared his time here. He was a man of faith who regularly attended St. Clare Catholic Church where he cherished the mass. He is survived by his Mother, Gail Murach Bontatibus, his Godmother and Aunt Joan Murach Funaro (John), his Uncle Gene Bontatibus and Aunt Nancy Bontatibus Harvey, his companion Jeena Aodisho and his beloved feline Cloudy. Kenny felt very blessed to have great people as friends and co-workers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave Sun City, AZ 85351. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clare of Assisi, 17111 W. Bell Road Surprise, AZ 85374, on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue, PO Box 5391 Glendale, AZ 85312 or The Arizona Humane Society 1521 W.
