Kathleen A. (Kay) Reilly (Linney) passed away on June 2, 2014. Born in New York, N.Y. on August 3, 1920 she grew up in Jackson Heights, N.Y., and married Joseph J. Reilly (deceased) on Valentine's Day 1942. They lived in Whitestone, N.Y. until 1966 when they moved their family to Phoenix, AZ. She was involved in the VFW Women's Auxiliary (past president), Degree of Pocahontas, and a weekly bowling group which netted her numerous trophies. She was the president of the Fun City Survivors, and a volunteer for Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Kay worked as a tax professional at HR Block for more than 30 years and retired in 1998. Kay enjoyed traveling with her husband Joe around the country and world to attend the Flying Tiger conventions. Kay was the center of her neighborhood social scene. Happy hour always found her front door open. She loved entertaining and had frequent parties. She loved to dance and make her Irish soda bread for each St. Patrick's Day celebration. Her Saturday evening mass was very important in her ritual. If you had to describe Kay in one word it would be "fun." She is survived by her three children, Kathleen M. Tokar (Richard), Patricia A. Spillers (Alan), and Maureen M. Reilly (Jerry Rutiz). Kay has 10 grandchildren: Teresa Klein (Peter), Joseph (Alana) Tokar, Karen S. Tokar, and Kevin Tokar; Alan Spillers (Tara), Michael Spillers, John Spillers (Kristine), and Traci Spillers; Moira Rutiz and Julianne Rutiz. She also has 14 great-grandchildren: Scott, Erinn, and Jenna Klein; Joseph (Brittany), Alex, and Kyleigh Tokar; Isabella and Keaton Tokar; and Aidin Kraatz; Josephine and Darby Spillers; Brienne and Adelyn Spillers; and four great-great- grandchildren: Ana, Ella, Lyla and William Tokar, all living in different areas of the country. Visitation will be held at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103'd Ave, Sun City, AZ on Sunday, June 15th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be said at Saint Clement of Rome Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ on Monday, June 16th at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kay's name to Hospice of the Valley or Spina Bifida Association.
