Katherine Janofsky

Katherine Janofsky (Patricia) passed to be with our Lord on March 16, 2018 at the beautiful age of 93. Katherine was born in Livingston Manor upstate New York April 28, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Margaret (Margo), great grandchildren Thomas and Margaret (Maggie) Allen and loving husband Ralph (Ruby) Janofsky. She is survived by her son Mark Kafouros, daughter in law Rochelle Kafouros, grandchildren Brett Allen, Stephanie Joseph, and great grandson Andrew Allen. Katherine was one of 6 children, born into the Torman family who emigrated from Greece. Katherine eventually moved to New Jersey where she resided until 1982, and moved to Arizona after the passing of her husband. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who took exceptional pride in caring for her family. Her greatest joy were holidays where she loved being with family. Her infectious smile and positive outlook on life was always present up until the time of her passing. She was an active member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Peoria Arizona, and her strong faith allowed her to overcome difficult times involving lost love ones. She lived life to the fullest and always put the needs of others before her's. She will be missed but we are grateful for the years shared. Her last six years were spent in the care of a wonderful caregiver, Amalia who was like a daughter to Katherine. The love and devotion of the Dihel family towards Katherine was truly a gift from god. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 31st between 1-3 pm for family members and close friends at her son's residence. Internment will take place soon after in Woodbridge, New Jersey where she will reunite with her loving husband.
