June Elizabeth Goins, 92, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2020 in Surprise, Arizona.
June was born June 10, 1927 in Bryant, Oklahoma to the late Ben and Minnie (Wirth) May. In 1946, she wed her first husband, Dwayne Lee Goff, with whom she shared a love of the dance floor. She worked as a waitress while raising her two sons, Dwayne and Wayne. After she lost her husband in 1962 she found love again and wed George Goins in 1964, to whom she remained married for the next 40 years until his passing. She proudly worked at the library at the University of California at Irvine for many years and upon retirement enjoyed traveling, sewing and spending time with friends and family. She spent the last chapter of her life in the Phoenix, Arizona area and spoke often of her delight at the grand celebration of her 90th birthday. June’s incredible strength, deep-seated faith and unrivaled sense of humor carried her through many trying times in her life, including the passing of both of her husbands and both of her sons. At the end, she was at peace knowing she would be received by the hands of the Lord and reunited with her boys. June will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to know, love and be loved by her.
