Josephine Godinez

Josephine Margaret “Margie” Godinez was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend of many. She passed away on May 8, 2019. Margie was born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 5, 1959 to Efren Godinez and Carmen Fluger-Godinez. She was cared for and nurtured by her dearly beloved “Mom” Amparo “Patty” Godinez-Ledesma. She was preceded in death by her parents and her “Mom”, Patty. She is survived by her siblings Gloria; Carlos and wife Teresa; Cecilia and husband Tony; Wilfred and wife Becky; Efren and wife Evangelina; Richard and sweetheart Terri; Joseph; Henry and wife Josephine; and Marie. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, countless extended family members, and dear sisters and brothers in Christ. Margie was a fun-loving sister with a contagious laugh who loved to dance! She had a caring, loving spirit and knew how to comfort others. Her love of photography was evident in the many photos of family members that she captured. Margie also loved caring for and helping others, so much so that she chose to become a certified care giver. She became good friends with her numerous patients and brought love and joy into their lives throughout her working years. During her last days, she lived with and was cared for by her nephew Walter, his wife Jacque, and their children James and John whom we all owe a debt of gratitude for their love and selflessness. In closing, we wish to express our gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and health care professionals at Abrazo West Hospital who took care of Margie during her last days.
