Joseph F. Provateare

97, of Sun City, AZ went peacefully home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Joe was born November 21, 1925 to Joseph and Ellen Provateare in Maple Heights, OH. This is where Joe grew up alongside his brothers: Tom & Carl and sister: Agnes, Ellen & Grace. He graduated from Maple Heights High School. Then promptly left to serve our country. He was drafted in the US Army. Joe served in the infantry and is a decorated war hero who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was always a proud and patriotic American.

On July 10, 1948 Joe married Pauline (Campana) and settled in Bedford, OH. Where Joe worked as a Mail Carrier. They had 3 children. The Provateare family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1966. Joe continued working as a Mail Carrier at the Scottsdale Post Office until he retired in 1981.

Joe & Pauline moved to Sun City, AZ in 1993. Joe always loved driving; they enjoyed many years of road trips. Their first Sun City home had a large front porch where Joe enjoyed spending time with a group of neighbor men solving the problems of the world and drinking coffee. But most of all Joe loved spending time with his Bride of almost 75 years, Pauline, and his family. Their home was always open to family & friends. Joe was a wonderful man. Loving and kind, quick to smile and a gentleman to all.

Joe is survived by his wife, Pauline, son, Joseph “Pep”(Annie) Provateare, twin daughters, Pamela (Rick) Capps, Paula (Gerald) Sandoval, sister, Grace Furino. Joe & Pauline have six Grandchildren, Joseph (Melissa) Provateare, Linda Provateare, Hope (Jeff) Ragusa, Mariette (Constantine) Broadbent, Samuel (Jessica) Benites, Paige (Andrew) Atwood. And the additional blessing of five Great- Grandchildren, Elise, Cecilia, Francesca, New Hope & Nixon. Along with a number of Nieces & Nephews. All will miss and remember him always.

The burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix at a later date.
