Joseph Neighbors

Joseph "Joe" Neighbors passed away from cancer in the comfort of his own home in Glendale, Arizona at the age of 58. Joe leaves behind his beloved wife Laura, of 34 years. His loving children, Joseph Jr, Megan (Rhett), and Heather; his precious grandsons Ryan and Logan. He is also survived by his siblings, Cyndi, Tom, Ed and Angel. He is preceded in death by his Mother Angela Scanlon. Joe also leaves behind many loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Joe was born on February 25th 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Angela (Cardinal) Swatsworth. He graduated from Lakewood High school in 1977 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1977-1981. He met his wonderful wife Laura in 1981 and they then married in 1983. After moving to Phoenix, AZ, in 1985 Joe began working for The Arizona Republic where he continued to work until his death. Joe's greatest pride and joy was his family and his family always came first. Joe's greatest passion was cooking for those he loved. A service is scheduled for Saturday, July 8th, 2017 2:00 PM for immediate family. 2:30PM to 3:30PM for the public at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N 103rd Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life.
