Josefa Hernandez

Josefa “Josie” Hernandez, 77, of Goodyear, AZ, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on July 8, 2020. She was born in Fabens, Texas on March 20, 1943 to the late Hilario and Aurora Gonzales. Josie was married to Agustin “Bobby” Hernandez for 56 years and was a loving Mom, Nana and Great-Nana. She was also a beloved sister, cousin and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Josie is survived by six sisters, five brothers and five daughters: Susan Hernandez, (Tony Alva), Olivia Hernandez, Victoria Hernandez, Rosemary Hernandez and Roberta Rodriguez. Her legacy of family first and “I LOVE YOU MORE!” will be carried on by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jacob, (Alicia), Jennifer & Anthony Treviño; Theresa Treviño, (Chris Rojas), Nevaeh & Christopher Rojas; James Hernandez & (Angelica Dominguez); Alexandria Hernandez; Joshua, (Bailey Wells), Emmit & Abel Treviño; Andrew Rodriguez; Isabel Hernandez & Matthew McGuire. In addition to her parents, Josie was preceded in death by a grandson, Angel Stapleton. The COVID-19 virus took Josie from all those who love her. She would want everyone to please wear a mask and help to end this pandemic as soon as possible. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the services will be private. Josie will be laid to rest in Resthaven Park Cemetery. Josie’s family hopes to celebrate her life in 2021, when the crisis is over and it is safe for all to gather and honor her memory.
