John E. Osuna, 78, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Olivia O. Delgado.
Born on August 7, 1946, to Edward and Aurora “Chubby” Osuna, John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Chole “Toni” Osuna, their children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother, a sister, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
John grew up in Peoria, Arizona, and proudly enlisted in the Army, serving in the Vietnam War with the 199th Infantry Brigade. After his military service, he dedicated many years to the electronics field and later retired from the City of Phoenix Maintenance Department after 24 years of devoted service.
He cherished numerous memories with family and friends, particularly enjoying hunting trips with his brother and nephews, where he showcased his sharpshooting skills and shared countless stories. The Osuna and Delgado families regularly enjoyed trips to Laughlin and Las Vegas, where John’s lucky streak often led to memorable wins. He maintained close bonds with his siblings, Hector “Sonny” and Eva, often engaging in long phone conversations.
A tradition was created by John and Toni of weekly weekend visits with their children and grandchildren, filled with laughter, games, good food, and jokes, moments he cherished deeply. His devotion to his family was evident in all he did; John was a loving and committed husband, father, and grandfather, always there to support his loved ones. He embraced the role of a “dog dad” in his later years, a reflection of his nurturing spirit.
John was adored by many and will be remembered for his infectious smile, laughter, and warmth. His ability to uplift others and his love for family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
