John Mullane

December 31, 1969 — February 4, 2013

John Timothy "Tim" Mullane was born on March 28, 1924 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Timothy J. Mullane & Nellie (Manion) Mullane, four siblings: an infant brother Joseph Manion Mullane, an infant sister Mary Margaret Mullane, Mary Nell Wilkes and Kathleen Gene Mirabito and an infant son Daniel Joseph Mullane, and 1 great-grandchild Braelyn Pinto-Wright. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Ellen (Cook) Mullane, 9 children: Peggy Pinto, Bridget Overman, Molly O'Malley, Patty Hutchison, Shannon Mullane, Eileen Goltra, Kitty Lewis, Dennis Mullane & Timothy Mullane. Twenty-two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He passed away on February 1, 2013 at Plaza Del Rio Care Center. Tim attended Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Scott, Kansas for 68 years. He was educated at St. Mary's Catholic School and Fort Scott High School (class of '41). Tim started working for the Frisco Railroad in May of 1944 as a locomotive fireman and ended his railroad career with the Burlington Northern Railroad as an engineer after 44 years of service. He was a life member in the Knights of Columbus: 4th degree & Grand Knight, a life member in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Firemen and a life member in the Elks Club. Tim & Ellen moved permanently to Sun City, AZ. in 1992. They became members of St. Joachim & St. Anne Catholic Church where Tim served as an altar "boy", assisted in leading the rosary at daily Mass, worked on a can recycling program and cared for the grotto devoted to Mary. He joined the Men's Club and served as a Bingo helper at the Sun Dial Recreation Center. To all who knew Tim - one of his favorite sayings was "GOODBYE, GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS"! There will be a memorial Mass at St Joachim & St. Anne - 11625 N. 111th Ave. Sun City, AZ. 85351 on Tuesday February 12th at 11:00am. There will be a rosary preceding Mass at 10:30am and a reception following Mass in St. Anne's Hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley, Sun City PCU, 10323 W. Olive Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345.
