John "Jim" Wolschon

December 31, 1969 — September 21, 2011

John James (Jim) Wolschon of Peoria, AZ passed away on September 19, 2011. He was born in Evanston, IL on April 9, 1920, grew up in Winnetka and lived in Wilmette until the family moved to Phoenix in 1973. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Tess of 62 years, daughters Linda Bell (Ward), Peg Wolschon (Jim Lubniewski), Susie Barreca (Vince), Mary Ann Page (Roy Corbett) and Betsy Abrams (Dean), 5 grandchildren Jessica, Kristi, JT, Maryellen and Hannah, 1 great-grandchild, Henry, and a sister, Dolores Wolschon. Jim served his country with honor in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Av, 7th Fl, New York, NY 10001. Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Funeral services will follow at 10am, Friday, September 23, 2011, St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 9728 West Palmeras Dr, Sun City, AZ.
