John Jack Conovaloff, 88, a native of Arizona passed away May 17, 2008. He was one of the last remaining West Valley farmers in the Tolleson area. He graduated from Pendergast Elementary and Tolleson Union High Schools and attended Phoenix College. He is survived by his wife Ann, Sister Anna Varonin, four children Andy, Elaine, Jack and Kathy Baghdanov, four grandchildren, His only two brothers Dan and Pete died before him. Before farming full time, John was a pilot and set a height record for a towed glider. During WWII he worked a McDonald Douglas in Santa Monica CA as the night supervisor, and was in charge of repairs for President F.D. Roosevelt's plane now called Air Force One. He also served duty as a conscientious objector at Fort Huachuca, near Tucson, Arizona. Visitation will be today from 4- 6:00 P.M. at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N 103rd Ave. Sun City 1 block south of Grand Ave. Funeral Service and Interment will be in Los Angeles, CA.
