Joe Daniel Soto, was born on September 2, 1926, and passed away peacefully August 6th, 2015. He was involved with quarter horse racing in the 1930’s and 40’s as a jockey and trainer. During WWII he was drafted into the US Army with the mounted Calvary. When he returned from WWII he attended carpentry classes to become a Union carpenter and continued owning and training race horses. For 40 years plus he worked for Homes and Son Construction and retired as a construction superintendent. Joe loved his family more than anything and was the epitome of selflessness. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Billie and is survived by his children Joetta, Dan, Rick, their spouses, grand and great grandchildren. He enjoyed sharing his love of his family and lifelong passion for race horses with anyone who visited him until his last hours on this earth.
