Surprise

Jesusa M. Gonzales, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024 at the age of 89. Born on February 15, 1935, Jesusa embodied the essence of hard work, love, and dedication throughout her life.

A homemaker at heart, Jesusa prioritized her family above all. She expertly balanced her roles as a mother and a housekeeper, exemplifying dependability and devotion in every task she undertook. Although she only completed the 8th grade, her intelligence and thrifty nature equipped her with the skills necessary to manage her home and finances with remarkable prowess. Jesusa was proud of her ability to navigate life’s challenges, even driving well into her later years.

Jesusa found joy in the simple pleasures that life offered. She cherished long conversations with her daughters, Lydia Killian and Alice Curtis, and delighted in watching good television shows and local sports teams. Cooking was not just a necessity for her; it was an act of love, shared generously with her family as she created meals that brought everyone together at the table. Her evenings often included watching novellas, a cherished pastime that combined her love for storytelling with her vibrant personality.

She was a strong-willed yet sweet woman, known by many for her honesty and hardworking spirit. Jesusa's role as a mother and grandmother brought her immense pride. She cherished her time with her beloved granddaughter Natalie Cons, her grandson Julio Matthew Martinez, and great-granddaughter Delilah Martinez who were the light of her life. Her steadfast support extended beyond her immediate family, with Jesusa always ready to lend a hand to those in need around her.

In her quieter moments, Jesusa enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Coco, whose loyal presence was a constant source of comfort. Together, they shared many moments of tranquility, reflecting the warmth and love that filled her home.

Jesusa was preceded in death by her husband, Eliodoro Gonzales, and her sons, Arthur and Albert Gonzales. She also mourned the loss of her parents, Santos and Anacleto Moya. Their memories remained cherished within her heart, guiding her as she continued to nurture her family.

As we remember Jesusa M. Gonzales, we celebrate her life—a life marked by an enduring spirit, deep love for her family, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Though she may have left us physically, her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
