Jeanne Weber

Jeanne Lewis Weber was born in Mount Vernon, NY on July 9, 1921. Growing up with her sister Yvonne, under the guidance of parents Earl and Martha Lewis she became an avid lover of music. Before the beginning of WWII, she briefly attended James Madison College during which time she was a member of the Diving Team and President of the Glee Club. During the war she worked with the Fred F. French Real Estate Company located on Fifth Avenue, NYC. After the war, she married Reginald Weber on May 28, 1948. During the early years of their marriage while Reginald was still active military, they were stationed in the Panama Canal Zone followed by residence in Alexandria, VA. After Reginald’s retirement from the military, they briefly moved to Westchester County, NY. Thereafter, they built a home in Northfield, VT during which time she worked as Assistant to the Dean of Civil Engineering at Norwich University. During her (11) years there, she was an avid Girl Scout Troop Consultant for the State of Vermont. After moving to Blowing Rock, NC she was instrumental in supporting Appalachian State University’s Watauga Residential College during their infancy. This was followed by brief stints in Salisbury, NC and York, PA. They returned to Blowing Rock, NC in 1980 followed by their last move to Glendale, AZ in 1997. She was married to Reginald Weber for 56 years and had two children, Reg Jr. and Priscilla followed by five grandchildren, Kristin, Sharon, Derek, Jon and Cameron. A natural musician with a passion for entertaining and social interaction, she was a very compassionate, generous, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017 at Goldwater Assisted Living in Glendale, AZ. Following a Memorial Service at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Phoenix, AZ, she will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix next to her beloved husband Reginald. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be forwarded to Arizona Family Hospice, 15551 N. Greenway Hayden Loop, Ste. 155, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
