Jane Hundley

July 5, 1924 — April 8, 2022

Jane Leef Hundley died peacefully at home surrounded by her grandchildren and friends on April 8, 2022. Jane was born in Cincinnati OH to Rudolph and Antoinette Leef. Her parents met in USA and then they planned a visit to their former country, Czechoslovakia which is now known as the Czech Republic. The visit lasted over 10 wonderful years. Jane completed all of her elementary schooling in Prague. Unfortunately, the Nazis invaded the country and ended all the happy times. Jane and her mother escaped to Chicago, IL. Here she graduated from Jones Commercial High School. Throughout her life, Jane lived and worked in many cities, including New York City, Palm Beach, San Francisco, and Honolulu. While in Honolulu she met and married Charles Hundley who preceded her in death (1986). Charlie and Jane owned a print shop in Medford, OR which afforded them some of the happiest times of their marriage. Jane was always active in church either teaching Sunday school or as a Deacon and Elder. Also, she remained very active in the Women of the Moose as a 50+ year member. In fact, she and Charlie were house-parents at Mooseheart, Illinois (one of the cities that the Loyal Order of the Moose sponsors). Furthermore, Jane was an active volunteer for the Cancer and Heart Foundations, and generously gave to many charities. In her later years, she volunteered at Peoria Main Library as well as at the Presbyterian Church and the Moose. Moreover, she served on the Sun Air HOA Board for many years as secretary and president. Jane is survived by her daughter, Joanne Marozzi, granddaughters Michelle Busser (Chad Kosower), Nicole Busser, Kelly Salamone and great-grandchildren Kaden and Cambridge Kosower. Also, she is survived by her chosen son, Jeff Mickelson (Aidelia Mickelson) and their children Yvette Fielding (sp: Michael Fielding, children: Landon and Lauren), Yvonne Mickelson, and Jamie Mickelson. She will be missed by cousins and friends in the Czech Republic as well as many friends in New York, Massachusetts, California, and Oregon. Jane loved people; strangers were her friends. A memorial service will be held at Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, AZ on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Moose Charities or First Presbyterian Church of Sun City.
