Jane Freeman

Born: 4-8-20, Erie, PA Died: 5-17-13, Sun City, AZ Long time resident and community leader, Jane J. Freeman, passed away May 17, 2013. Jane will be remembered for her friendly smile and her many contributions to the Sun City community. Among her many accomplishments Jane served as President of Sun City Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Board of Directors of the Sun City Library and founding member and President of the Sun Cities Area Historical Society. During the 25th Silver Anniversary Celebration of Sun City Jane co-authored a book entitled "Jubilee" which highlighted the development and growth of the Sun City retirement community. In 1981 Jane was named as "Woman of the Year" and in 1988 Jane was honored as "Outstanding Citizen" of Sun City. Born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, Jane moved to Sun City in the early 1970's and considered Sun City to be her home. A memorial service will be held in honor of Jane at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 16000 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Arizona 85351.
