Smith, James I. Age 80, of Sun City, AZ, passed away peacefully with family and loved ones at his side on April 4, 2025, after a month-long battle with Pneumonia. He was born on September 18th, 1944, in Reedsburg WI, the son of Irwin and Dolores (nee Connors) Smith. Jim retired from being self-employed in Real Estate working with his son Kelly at MCO Realty. Jim enjoyed retirement playing competitive softball and being active in the community with his partner of 15 years Dorthy Harms. He will be sadly missed by Son Kelly (Svitlana) Smith of Fountain Hills, AZ and Kimberly (Eugene) Klamerus of Chicago, IL; grandson Patrick (Bea) Smith and great grandchild Oliver of Woodstock, GA, granddaughter Dr. Amanda Smith of Circle Pines, MN; sister Jean Kaczmarek of Griffin GA. Jim is further survived by nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Smith in 2009, his parents and two brothers Patrick and Dennis. A Memorial service will be held in Arizona in Sun City on April 19th at 11:00 AM at Menke Funeral Home 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Sun City AZ. A Mass of Christian Burial will we said on Saturday May 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 919 W. Main St. Palmyra, WI. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Palmyra.
