James C. Moran, the oldest son of James Joseph Moran and Cora Wagner Moran, of Hutchinson, MN, passed into eternal life at the age of 80 years with his wife and brother at his side. The world was a better place with Jim in it because Jim accepted his own humanness and the humanness of his fellow travelers. Jim was very community minded. He was involved with ties to various organizations that worked for peace, justice, and nonviolence. Bread for the World was one such organization that he promoted. Each morning Roberta his wife of 50 years minus 3 months could hear him talking to the politicians about their responsibility to these matters. Jim was ordained in the Catholic priesthood in 1964, and left active duty in 1969. Jim was also a member of Corpus, a core of priests working for a renewed and reformed church. Jim worked for 35 years as a social work therapist having received a Masters degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. After retirement, in 2011, Jim and Roberta decided to move to Sun City, AZ. Jim enjoyed running, golf, was an avid reader, and took great pride in his surroundings. He worked hard and played hard. He went out to his fellow man with the good news of the Gospel. Survivors include his wife Roberta, his brother, Greg Moran, of Hutchinson, MN, and 9 nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Tom. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
In imitation of Saint John XXIII, pope who called Vatican II, Jim framed the following quote:
“Whatever God has given me to do, I intend to do it all.”
