Jack Holladay

December 31, 1969 — March 7, 2011

Jack L. Holladay, a thirty year resident of Sun City, passed away March 3rd at Banner Boswell Hospital. Jack was born July 22, 1932 in Alton, Illinois. His parents were Pearl and Harry Holladay, both deceased as is his sister, Billie Schwegel. Most of his working life, he was associated with the trucking industry, first as a driver and later as a Safety Supervisor for Ruan Trucking of Des Moines, Iowa and also for Smith Transfer of Staunton, Virginia. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, on Oct. 12, 1951 and she survives him. He is also survived by two sons, Stephen and Scott, and two daughter, Connie Barnes and Christine Johnson, and six grandchildren. Jack was active in the Oakmont Lapidary & Silvercraft Club and the Sun City RV Club, serving as President of both groups. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. followed by Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2011 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be give to either the Phoenix Rescue Mission or The West Valley Hospice.
