IvaDelle Edna Filipi was born on April 12, 1930 in Tabor, Minnesota to Edward and Emily Filipi (both deceased) and was called to spend eternity with the Lord on June 27, 2019. She had one sister, Lydia (deceased), and two brothers, Dallas (deceased) and Arne of Denver, Colorado.
IvaDelle was confirmed at Menden Hall Presbyterian Church in 1942 and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School in 1948, where she enjoyed singing in the school chorus. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1956 and worked in the accounting office at Ringsby Truck Lines. She enjoyed basketball at that time and went to many Denver Rockets basketball games and then maintained season tickets to the Denver Nuggets games.
IvaDelle loved to travel and took numerous trips through the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s with her friends Agnus and Grace. They travelled together to China, Japan, Thailand and Hawaii to name a few.
IvaDelle moved to Phoenix, Arizona in May of 1986 and worked in the office at Butler Paper Company until she retired. A few of her fellow workers and she started a bunko group call the Bunko Babes. She played bunko with that group of ladies for many years.
IvaDelle moved to Sun City, Arizona in May 2000, and shortly thereafter she became a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sun City. She took an active role in the church, serving as a deacon, participating in Monday Morning Knitters, attending women’s bible study and volunteering in the church office answering phones.
IvaDelle was an accomplished seamstress and made all her own clothes throughout her entire life until macular degeneration robbed her of her eyesight in her later years. She also loved to crochet, knit and scrapbook as well as make her own greeting cards and do other crafts. She was an avid baseball fan and endeared her Arizona Diamondbacks, rarely missing a game of theirs on television unless traveling or the game was not on TV.
IvaDelle is survived by her brother Arne and his wife along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends from near and far. A memorial service for IvaDelle is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church of Sun City, 12225 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, Arizona 85351.
