Isabell Dorothy Martin (nee Maddocks) passed away in Sun City, Arizona on April 8, 2011. Formerly of New Jersey, she maintained homes in Sun City, Arizona and Rock Hall, Maryland. She was born to Harry and Sarah Maddocks in Brooklyn, New York on June 17, 1921. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Thomas W. Martin in 2002. She graduated from Manual Training High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. and then served in the United States Navy in World War II as one of the first female draftsman. She worked for Bell Telephone, moved onto RCA and advanced from telephone operator to purchasing and photography assistant. She attended Rutgers University in Camden during the evenings. Predeceased by her brother Harry Maddocks, Jr. Survived by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Gibbs, her children Thomas Martin, Clair Becker (Marc), Dennis Martin (Betty), five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a niece and two nephews.
