Irvin E Stenger, age 88, of Sun City, AZ, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Irv was born May 20, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Urban Stenger and Lillian Schenkle Stenger. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol (Honnigford), daughters Karen (Tony) Walker of Mt Vernon, IN, and Liz (Doug) Meyer of Sun City West, AZ, sons Jeff Stenger of Palmer, AK, and Mark (Ann) Stenger of Batesville, IN, his brother Ken (Vera) Stenger of Peebles, OH, ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Irv was employed by Messer Construction in Cincinnati, OH for 42 years, retiring as a Construction Superintendent in 1996. He also served in the Navy Reserve for eight years.
Irv enjoyed golf, model ship building, and sudoku puzzles. He was a military history buff, enjoyed a good political discussion, and loved his family, friends, and the Cincinnati Reds. Irv made many wonderful friendships while residing in Cincinnati, OH, Lawrenceburg, IN, Lakeland, FL, Crossville, TN, and Sun City, AZ.
A memorial service will be forthcoming. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service, where many stories and laughs will be shared.
