Herman Hoppe

Herman James Hoppe, 99 years old, died peacefully on July 5, 2016 at Cook Health Care, Youngtown, Arizona. He is predeceased by his wife of 76 years Pauline (Polly), daughter, Mary Ann Hoppe, parents, Andrew and Sophia Hoppe, sisters Gertrude Barczak, Sophie Lyon, and Eunice Bangerter, brothers Reverend Sylvester Hoppe and Robert Hoppe. Herman is survived by his daughter, Sister Carole Ann Hoppe, OSF. Herman was a Secular Franciscan for 55 years. At the time of his death, he was a member of the San Damiano Fraternity. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 62 years; he was also a member of the Men’s Club, the Rosary Makers, a Eucharistic Minister, a Homebound Minister, an Altar Server at St. Joachim and St. Anne for many years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd, Sun City, Arizona 85351. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joachim and St. Anne at 11625 N. 111th Ave., Sun City, Arizona 85351.
