Henry A. Levin was born in Kensington, Kansas to Arthur and Anna Levin. He attended school in a one room schoolhouse taught by his older sister, Elaine. After four years of high school in Kensington, he was drafted into the army, serving two years. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Fort Hayes State on the GI Bill, becoming a high school teacher in Lenore, KS. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in botany and a Specialist Degree, Hank taught science at Shawnee Mission East and then Kansas City Kansas Community College for 27 years.
In retirement, he gardened summers in Shawnee, KS and shopped estate sales in winters in Sun City, AZ. Recently he took up bingo and tai chi at the Gardens of Sun City.
Henry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene, daughters Renee Levin and Denise Levin Signorelli, and her children Dagny and Anthony Signorelli. Also surviving is brother Wilbur Levin of Overland Park, KS. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine, and brother Irvin Levin.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., Saturday Sept. 8th at 10:00 a.m. Donations can be made in his name to the church.
