Helen Ramsey Chamberlain

December 31, 1969 — April 22, 2016

Helen Augusta Ramsey Chamberlain was called to heaven on April 16th, 2016 in Sun City, Arizona at the age of 96. Preceded in death by her husband Joe Chamberlain, daughter Cheryl Lyn Ragsdale, brother Vernon Ramsey, brother Melvin Ramsey, mother Augusta Ramsey, father Earnest Ramsey and very dear friend and companion Charlie. A loving mother to Jo Dean Fritz and Reba Fay Flynn. A proud grandmother to Mike, Mary, Deborah, Cynthia, Patricia, Kenny, Joe, Juanita, Bobbie, Shawna, and Stephanie. Great grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren and great-great grandmother to 7 great-great grandchildren. Helen was born July 20, 1919 in the small village of Tilden, Illinois. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and caring woman who loved to fish, camp, sew, cook, shop at fabric outlets, and watch sports, especially her Diamondbacks and Dallas Cowboys!! There was nothing better to Helen than to sit and snuggle up to an exciting Diamondbacks ballgame on TV and sip on a “Big Orange” (Budweiser). Another favorite past time was chillin at Valle Luna eating Mexican food with Bobbie. Helen candled eggs in her early adulthood and cared for infants at a neighborhood nursery later in life, from which she retired. She was full of life and made 96 years look easy! Rest in Peace, dear lady, and enjoy reuniting with the ones you have missed so much. We love you! Public viewing services will be held on Tuesday April 26th, 2016 from 10:30-11:30 am at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center located at 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351. Burial services to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, AZ.
