Hedwig "Hedy" Johns

Hedwig “Hedy” Helene Johns, 86, of Sun City, AZ died unexpectedly on June 15, 2022, at John C. Lincoln Hospital. She was born March 5, 1936, in Malsch, Germany, the daughter of Adam and Hermine Axtmann (nee Lerner). Married to Walter Johns on February 4, 1957, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Recently celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. Hedy loved knitting, crocheting, spending time with her husband, Walter and their yorkie, Dash. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Walter Lerner and Ewalt Axtmann. Surviving are her husband Walter Johns of Sun City, sister, Anna Axtmann of Germany, son, Michael Johns (Kim) of El Paso, TX , daughter, Lorraine Williams (Alvie) of Sun City; grand-daughters Tarah Edwards (Joseph) of Denton, TX, Amanda Tyrrell (Brian) of Sun City, and Ashley Vereecke of Longtown, OK; 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ.
