Gordon Walker

Gordon Walker of Sun City passed away February 18, 2020. Gordon was born June 17, 1921 in England – emigrated to America in 1923. He was Educated in Dearborn, Michigan schools, Wayne State and Northwestern University. Graduate of “The Stonier Graduate School of Banking”, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. A First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, he flew in 30 missions over Germany. He holds the Distinguished Flying Cross, air medal with four oak leaf clusters and the Presidential Unit Citation. In 1978 he retired as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Peoples National Bank and Trust Company, Bay City, Michigan and President and CEO of People Banking Corporation, Bay City, Michigan, a holding company owning several banks in Michigan. He leaves son Gordon A. (Michelle), grandson Samuel G. (Melissa), great-granddaughter Helen Rose, granddaughter Stacey E. and many nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date.
