Gloria Jean Johnston went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 25th, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her family: Her husband of 54 years, Jim, her daughter Shareece, son Jay, son-in-law Dean, daughter-in-law Candace, grandsons Chad and Jyles, Chad’s fiancée Baylie, Jyles’ girlfriend Randi, and her dear friend Maureen Ardolino. Gloria was born on March 16th, 1944 to Felix and Ann Dosal in Tucson, Arizona. She had an instant love of dancing and music, especially Elvis Presley. She graduated from Tucson High School in 1962, and after finishing cosmetology school, became a hair stylist. It was shortly after that she met the love of her life, James Matthew Johnston III. Jim and Gloria were married on June 7th, 1964 in North Carolina, and relocated to Jacksonville, FL, only to return home to the desert. They raised their family in Phoenix, and lived in the same house for over 50 years. Since 1997, they enjoyed spending their summers in the cool pines of Munds Park, AZ., where Gloria spent her days watering her beloved plants and feeding the forest animals. Gloria was a nurturing soul, steadfast friend, and disciple of Christ. She shared her faith in Jesus Christ with many people, and led countless people to the Lord. Gloria had a fulfilled, content, Christ-centered life very well lived.
