Glenda F Hopper

June 22, 1940 — February 8, 2025

Peoria, Arizona

Glenda Faye Hopper, a devoted Mother, Auntie, Granny and Gigi, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in Peoria, Arizona, at the age of 84. Glenda was born on June 22, 1940, in Harrison, Ohio to Albert and Mabel (Rugg) Brook.  She was the 4th of seven children and was the last to survive.

Glenda was in the last class to graduate from Bright High School in 1958. She married her classmate, James Hopper on October 17, 1959 and they had one daughter,  Terri.

As a young woman, Glenda used her vocal talents to sing at a number of churches. As a result, she maintained her love of hymns and gospel music throughout her life.

Glenda's work life did not define her, although she was a small business owner for a time and she held many clerical positions in both Indiana and Arizona. Instead, Glenda excelled at having a generous heart, a fun-loving spirit, and an ability to make others feel important to her.

Glenda had many hobbies she enjoyed that also brought joy to others. She made dozens of knitted caps for newborns in the hospital NICU and lovingly crafted blankets for each of her great-grandchildren. She read the Bible daily and would often share Scriptures to encourage others. She had fun completing puzzles and attending concerts with friends. But probably her favorite endeavor was traveling. She visited nearly every state and a  highlight of her life was her trip to Ireland.

She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Theresa “Terri” Storms, and her husband Monty. Glenda is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Isaac Storms and fiancée Katherine, Olivia Lewis and husband Bryan, and Ethan Storms and fiancée Madison. Additionally, her great-grandchildren, Hendrix and Francesca, whom she dearly loved. Glenda had strong bonds with numerous nieces and nephews—Dawn, Robert, Connie, Amy, Dianna, Paula, Tina, Jimmy, Kim, Melenee, and Jennifer — as well as many friends who were considered family: Louis, Rebecca, Beverly, David, Loretta, Kaye, Donna, and Kathy.

She was preceded in death by her husband James "Jim", parents Albert and Mable, and siblings: Arletta, Phyllis, Eleanor, Audrey, Carl, and Buster.

Glenda is now home with Jesus and rejoicing. Those of us remaining will miss the love and laughter we shared until we are together again.

"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."  ~  1 Corinthians 15:57

A memorial service to celebrate Glenda's life will be held on February 21, 2025, at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center in Sun City, Arizona, starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Randy Shumate presiding.  Visitation will begin one hour before the service.  All are invited to come and share  memories of Glenda, however: "No blubbering allowed"
