Gary L. Corbin, 63 of Sun City, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2019. Gary was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on May 17, 1956. He attended Roy C Start High School in Toledo, Ohio. After high school, Gary worked for J&L Distributors and Rolled Alloys in Monroe, Michigan. He later worked at a paper mill and learned the roofing trade while working for a residential roofing contractor. Gary moved to Arizona in 2007 where he did maintenance and yard work for neighbors in the Sun City retirement community. He was strong in his faith and attended New Life Community Church with dear friends. He also enjoyed listening to sermon podcasts and Christian music. Gary loved being outdoors, riding his motorcycle, or going fishing and hunting. He was an avid Pokémon enthusiast and enjoyed exploring the parks in Peoria while playing the game with his fellow Pokémon trainers. Gary had a great sense of humor and no matter how difficult life could be, he always took time to laugh. He loved his family and was especially proud of his son, Brandon. Gary is preceded in death by grandparents William R. and Mamie L. Corbin and James D. and Alberta V. Ward and his younger brother, Michael A. Corbin. Gary will be deeply missed by his father and mother Gary R. and Helen M. Corbin; sisters, Dianne Cameron (Jim) and Kimberly Vogelsang (Perry); son Brandon Corbin (Jennifer); grandsons Alexander and Oliver Corbin; nephews Matthew Bires and Joseph Bires; niece Kirsten Rustenbach (Michael) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and furry-friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, AZ with the family receiving friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
