Everett Pease Jr.

Everett Eugene Pease, Jr. born in Westbrook, Maine, March 21, 1928, passed from this world on April 27, 2012 at 84 years of age. Son of Everett Eugene Pease, Sr. and Gladys Viola Welch Pease, he survived five siblings, Avis Janet, Freddie, Constance, Curtis and Henry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1949, as a corpsman in Korea. He was employed by Kiekeffer Paper Company and SD Warren Paper Mill in Westbrook for a short time. Married to life long friend Margaret Ann Hayer, June 21, 1951. They celebrated their 60th anniversary last June. They have three daughters: LeeAnn Sharpe, JoLynn Cribben and Gina Marie Smith. They have 6 grandchildren: Julianne Marie Sharpe, Jessica Leigh Cheles, Jeffrey Cribben, Matthew Cribben, Stephanie Smith and Roger Smith. Their first great grandson, Weston Kaos Welch, was born in March of this year. By 1953, they moved to Los Angeles California where Everett worked for the Union Oil Company. He transferred with Union Oil Company to Phoenix, AZ in 1958, where he retired in 1980 after 35 years. An avid sportsman Ev enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as traveling his adopted home state of Arizona. A self-taught scholar of history, he also enjoyed reading, gardening and carpentry. Mostly he enjoyed being with family and friends, and was a master story teller. As a wonderful husband, father and friend to many he will be missed. Internment with honor guard will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
