Elsie Sterrenberg

Elsie Wright Sterrenberg, 88, of Peoria, AZ passed away Nov. 30, 2016. Elsie was born in Cincinnati, OH to Lowell and Velma Wright. Elsie’s education included a BFA (music) from Illinois Wesleyan University and MFA (violin concentration) from the Chicago Conservatory College. She worked as a music and orchestra teacher for the Western Springs Public Schools in Western Springs, IL and moved to Arizona in 1989. She was a member of Willowbrook United Methodist Church and choir, P.E.O., Sigma Alpha Iota (National Treasurer & President), and numerous orchestras. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth G. Sterrenberg on Sept. 20, 1999. She is survived by her children Elaine S. Biewenga of Peoria, AZ, Marilyn S. Sterrenberg-Rose of Arvada, CO, Dr. Ronald K. Sterrenberg of Glendale, AZ, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Willowbrook United Methodist Church, 19390 N. 99th Ave., Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the church.
