Ellsworth John Duguid 7 OCT 1931 - 16 AUG 2017 Ellsworth “Al” John Duguid, 85, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his home in Sun City, AZ. He leaves his wife of 30 years, Lee Duguid, his son, John Duguid (Rebecca), his daughter, Katy Bazylewicz (Walter), three stepchildren, Michelle, Steve (Lisa), and Frank Markevich, and seven grandchildren. Born in Batavia, NY, Al also leaves two siblings, Donald Duguid (Sandra) and Sandra Duguid-Gerstman (Henry); his other two sisters, Joyce Anchor and Carol Merrill, predecease him. After receiving an undergraduate degree at the State University of New York in Brockport, he served as a medic in the army during the Korean War. When he returned home, Al discovered his passion for education first as a high school teacher and coach, then completed master’s and doctoral degrees in education, and finally served as Vice President of Student Services at Delta College in Michigan for over 20 years. Al was a devoted husband and father with a kind heart and wry sense of humor who loved spending time with his family, golfing, and traveling. Funeral services are at First Methodist Church, 9849 N. 105th Avenue, Sun City, AZ on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 am with burial at Stafford Rural Cemetery in Genesee County, NY at a later date.
