Elizabeth E. Spears

91 of Sun City West, AZ. passed away August 15, 2012 with her daughter and Chaplain by her side. Born August 3, 1921 daughter of the late Elizabeth and Arthur Gretschel of Kingston, PA. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Sterling of 55 yrs, retiring to AZ in 1978. Enjoying grandchildren, family and good friends were her greatest joys. Betty (Mom), (Nana) the many people whose lives she touched she will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her. Survived by her youngest Sherry L. Spears of Glendale, AZ., eldest son (Butch) Sterling W. Spears Jr., (Carol) of West Chester, PA., and son Arthur M. Spears of Chelsea, AL., Six grandchildren: Tammy Feby of Middletown, DE., Laura Foley of New Hope, PA., Brian Surovik of Scottsdale, AZ., Aaron Spears of TX, Brigette Spears of Glendale, AZ. and Amy Spears of Toronto, ON,. Five Great-Grandchildren: Megan and Nicole Feby, Aaron Spears Jr., Shilo Spears and Blaise Foley, Nephew: Barry (Patty) Eppler. Betty was preceded in death by three siblings Dorothy Williams, Eleanor Eppler, and Arthur Gretschel all of, PA. Betty studied classical piano music since she was a young child into her adult life and was an accomplished pianist. Extremely talented musician by reproducing entire pieces of music by ear. Playing for radio stations in PA, many military events, churches, enjoyed entertaining with piano music. Betty served in the early 1980's on the Sun City West Symphony Board of Directors. Burial services 12:30 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Creek Rd Phoenix, AZ 85024.
