Elaine Svancara

Elaine Christine Svancara passed to be with Our Lord on August 30, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born to James K and Teresa J Egan on July 21, 1942 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. At age 13 she moved to Phoenix with her family. She is survived by, her husband Stanley Svancara of 55 years of marriage, 4 children, Lawrence R. Svancara, Andrew L. Svancara, Karen L. Hart, Diane M. Buhanan, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also, 5 sisters and many nieces and nephews. As a young girl, she enjoyed marching with the Legionettes Girls drill team. Her main love was being a Eucharistic Minister at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. She excelled at sewing, Particularly with upholstery. She took particular pride in operating her own custom upholstery business, Nine Stitches Upholstery for 30 years. When relaxing, she enjoyed bowling, camping and her family. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery West, 6290 West Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301. In lieu of flowers send donations to St. Vincent de Paul.
