Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while- but their hearts forever- Eileen T. Ring, 96, of Avondale Arizona (formerly of Jackson, Ohio) passed peacefully on April 8, 2014 following an extended illness. Born in Monroe County, Ohio on October 30, 1917 she was the oldest daughter of James Earnest Heddleson and Lillie Hendershot Heddleson. Eileen graduated from Graysville High School and worked for Western Union and Monroe County during the War. She was an avid gardener enjoying her roses, fighting to keep the deer from eating the corn and the keeping birds out of the peach trees. Eileen is survived by her daughter Robyn (David) Jacobs of Avondale, Arizona; grandson Cliff (Hannah) Jacobs of Litchfield Park, Arizona; granddaughter Erica (John) Modzelewski of Mesa, Arizona; great granddaughters Emily and Penelope Jacobs and Winifred Modzelewski, brother in law, Paul (Marie) Ring of Woodsfield and sister in law Rosa Lea Ring (Doyle) Tatum of Columbus Ohio and many nieces and nephews who reside throughout the United States. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Eugene, son Randall Eugene "Randy" Ring, mother Fannie Broughton Heddleson, and brothers Clifford and Milford Heddleson and sisters, Violet Heddleson Green and Velma Heddleson Kinney. Final interment will be at National Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona with private graveside services being held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Menke Funeral & Cremation Center of Sun City Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85014.
