Edward Schramm Sr.

Edward Arthur Schramm, Sr. 84, a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Surprise passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at home. Ed was born on May 3, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Harrison) Schramm. Ed was also preceded in death by his wife, Jule Ann (Elko) Schramm and his brother George (Jacquelin) Schramm. Ed graduated from Keyport High School, Keyport, New Jersey and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ed was a faithful member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. He was Past National Commandant of the Marine Corp League (1976), a retired Sergeant from the Hazlet New Jersey Police Department and retired civilian accident investigator from Mesa Police Department. Surviving to cherish his memory are his five children Robert Schramm, Joseph (Emily) Schramm, Sharon O’Donnell, Cheryl Schramm and Edward (Carol) Schramm; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351 on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 4 PM. A Mass will follow the next day, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 17111 W. Bell Road, Surprise AZ, 85374.
