Edith Johnson

78, of Sun City, Arizona passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on August 24, 2014. Born in Clemencau, Arizona to Roland and Ellen Beach, she was one of 7 brothers and sisters. Joan was very active in the American Lutheran Church of Sun City. She loved golf, games and coffee time with her friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Lt. Col. Ernest Johnson and son Richard Larson. She is survived by her sister Barbara Wholenhaus of Prescott, AZ; daughters Caril Jordan and Debra Bischoff, son Ernie Johnson and 5 grandchildren. Burial will be at Fort Huachuca National Military Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on October 31, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on November 1, 2014 at the American Lutheran Church of Sun City, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of her favorite charities: The American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, The Big Brothers & Big Sisters or the Wounded Warrior Project.
