Dr. Richard F. Felicetti passed away on September 27, 2018 with Sharon at his bedside. Rich is survived by his wonderful, beautiful wife Sharon, his daughter Jane (Bob), four grandchildren, Josh (Kyla), Jillian, Sarah, Jake, great grandchildren Jase & Blakely and brothers Ray (Gloria) and Gary. After two years of military service, he continued his professional career in education. He was a teacher, a principal at three levels: grade school, junior high school and high school in Elgin School District U-46. He also served as a director of a Head Start Program in Elgin. He was the Superintendent of School District 170 in Chicago Heights. At that time he was also an adjunct professor at Governors State University. He completed his professional career as Superintendent of Bloom High School District 206 the high school district that he graduated from in 1951. After retirement he was the co-director of the Bloom High School Archives for many years and retired from that position in 2010. If one should visit Bloom High School the Archives is named after him. An honor he was very proud of. He earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Northern Illinois University and his PhD from Walden University.
He had a life long hobby of collecting campaign material, especially Presidential Campaign buttons. During his retirement years he visited all the deceased presidential gravesites. This inspired him to write a book, “Regardless, They Were the Presidents of the United States.”
He loved spending time with his family and traveling. He made many trips to Italy, especially the hometown where his parents were born, San Benedetto Del Tronto, Marche, Italy. He was a proud member of the Marchegiana Society of Chicago Heights.
Private services were held in Peoria, Arizona.
