Dr. E. Loos

December 31, 1969 — June 7, 2018

Dr. Mary E. Loos passed away on June 7, 2018. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in Iowa. Mary was the first female physician in Sun City West, Arizona in private practice in 1987. She was in private practice for 15 years. She was the first physician to admit a patient to the new Del Webb Hospital in 1987 after it was built. Mary was one of a few physicians that made house calls on her patients. If they could not come to the office, she went to them. She always carried her black bag in her car in case of emergencies. Her love and passion was for medicine as it always was first and foremost. Mary worked long and hard to help take care of others. She then became a hospitalist for 16 years and traveled to other states to work. Her only other passion was reading or crossword puzzles. Mary is preceded by her parents, Doris and Robert Loos. She is survived by sisters, Christine Jacobs, her four children of Olathe, KS. Susan Dobson and two children of Lebanon, TN. Mary gave countless hours of dedication. Countless lives touched. Countless families reassured and consoled. Unknown fact, Mary always carried her angel stone in her pocket. Private services were arranged.
