Douglas Holmes

Douglas Arthur Holmes entered into rest on 07/03/2009. He was 70 years old. Doug was one of seven born in Prescott, AZ on 11/08/1938 to Joe and Rose Holmes. He was a talented mason and landscape artist, an avid collector of art and Indian pottery, a sharpshooter, former member of the Prescott Jaycees and Rodeo Committee, and enjoyed showing championship Schipperkes with his loving wife of 42 years Sharon. Doug and Sharon were always by each others side, and he loved and supported his family with strength and humor. He leaves behind his son Bryan Stormy, daughter Joni Gehr Jeff and grandchildren Kylene and Jeffrey who were his pride and joy. In addition, Doug will be dearly missed by his large family including brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and his many, many friends. Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ and a celebration of Doug's life will be held immediately following at 6111 N 130t" Ave, Litchfield Park, AZ.
